PUPPIES!
Frida's Litter
We currently have puppies available for adoption under our puppy provisions.
Mama Frida came to us very pregnant and gave birth to 7 puppies shortly after her arrival. Puppies can go to their new homes under a foster to adopt contract after August 15th and be officially adopted after their spay/neuter surgery at 5-6 months. Adoption fee is $250.
Mama Frida is a purebred chocolate dachshund about 14-15 pounds.
We believe dad was a chihuahua. Four have been adopted and three are still accepting applications.
The Boys:
Curtis (black/white)
Deegan (black/white)
The Girls:
Francine (black/white-short hair)
Please remember that puppies are a lot of work and a lifetime commitment. They need lots of attention in their first year and if you do not already have other dogs to keep them company you may want to consider adopting a pair.
If you live in the San Antonio are and are interested, please click on "How to Adopt" to download an application.

What are Puppy Provisions?
Puppies born into or received by OMCR under the age of 16 weeks old cannot leave their original foster home until they have received a minimum of 2 sets of vaccinations 21 days apart.
All dogs must be spayed and neutered before being adopted from OMCR. OMCR veterinarians recommend the ideal minimum age for spaying or neutering a puppy is between 5 and 6 months of age although certain breeds should wait up to 12-18 months.
Adoption applications for puppies will be processed as soon as they are received and the best home selected based on OMCR’s criteria. Once a home is approved and the chosen puppy has received their second set of vaccinations they may be moved to the potential adopter’s home as a foster dog. A special puppy contract must be completed at this time and the adoption donation will be collected.
At the appropriate time a third round of vaccinations as well as a rabies vaccination will be given at OMCR’s expense.
Once the dog reaches 5-6 months of age (or an appropriate age determined by our vet) an appointment will be scheduled with an OMCR vet for spay/neuter at a time convenient for the foster/adopter. Spay/neuter surgery will be performed at OMCR’s expense. Once surgery is complete the Adoption Contract is signed by an OMCR representative and the adopter and the adoption is complete.
Until the puppy is spayed/neutered, the puppy is the sole property of OMCR.
