Frida is a wonderful dog. She is social and sweet and craves attention. When Frida originally came to us 2 years ago she was extremely pregnant and delivered 7 healthy babies. She loves to snuggle, loves to walk and go on outings and loves to sleep in the big bed.
One of her offspring (Francine) is extremely shy and extremely bonded to Frida. She looks for her constantly and that is one of the reasons that we have kept Frida around, hoping that she would teach Francine that there is nothing to be afraid of. They would love a home together where a family could continue to work on Francine's fears.
As with all dachshunds, extra precautions should be taken with Frida's back. She is very long which can create weak spots in the spine. One little jump can do a ton of damage. All dachshund owners should be prepared at some point for a possible back surgery which is expensive. If you are not willing to spend this kind of money then please do not adopt or purchase a dachshund.
